MNP Appointed on 36 storey tower

July 25th, 2017

MNP have been appointed to deliver the final design for a 116m high PRS residential tower on Whitworth Street West in Manchester. Set on 36 storey’s with a floor area in excess of 250,000 sqft, this landmark building will provide 327 apartments and amenity space including a rooftop garden. MNP have been appointed to re-engineer the building to deliver an enhanced and value engineered stage 4 design before working with the contractor to deliver the building for the Developer, Inhabit.

The landmark design by 5Plus Architects responds to the ‘prominent gateway and entry sequence by creating a slender, striking building of unassuming elegance. The design concept is expressed through a slim rectangular box of apartments inserted in to an organising frame of pre-cast concrete’.

The site has a number of significant constraints being on a tight city centre plot with a neighbouring Network Rail viaduct. Work is due to commence on site in Q1, 2018.
