Background:

As part of the £30m regeneration of The Brewery Centre in Cheltenham, a new 23,000 sq ft Hollywood Bowl bowling alley and Cineworld IMAX cinema was installed in the Phase 1 shopping centre.

MNP incorporated eight full sized bowling lanes into the first floor retail space, including the sprung acoustic concrete slabs which sit below each lane and heavy “pin spotter” mechanics. The columns in the existing layout were relocated at the first floor, by introducing stiff transfer beams to redirect loading into new columns and then back into the ground floor columns. This was achieved with minimal temporary works, whilst the ground floor restaurant remained safely trading.
