Background:

MNP are working as as structural engineers for ‘City and Liberty Buildings’ - the redevelopment of Great Minster North on Horseferry Road, Victoria to 120 luxury apartments. This substantial, 197,000 sq ft postmodern building was bought by developer Alchemi Group for £97.5m in October 2013.

The building currently houses government offices including the Department for Transport and will be demolished to ground floor level and re-constructed over additional floors and to a different grid.  MNP will again use their expertise in the field of foundation re-use to limit sub-structure costs and environmental impact.

Architects are Stiff + Trevillion, who were appointed in competition with DSDHA and Flanagan Lawrence. Other team members include Buro Four project managers, Gardiner & Theobald cost consultants and NDY M&E engineers. The estimated completion date is 2018.

This is the latest in a series of projects which MNP has secured with Alchemi Group, following the £30m conversion of 55 Victoria Street to include 6 additional storeys.
