Background:

A new £9m swimming pool and sports complex for this prominent independent school in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

The building is mainly glazed and features a double-curved roof using a series of curved Westok cellular beams to form the wave-shaped profile. The roof spans 44m over an 8 lane swimming pool with adjustable floor, a gymnasium, squash courts and changing rooms.

Working with the architects and Jerram Falkus Construction, MNP produced a BIM structural model using CSC Fastrak Building Designer, Tekla and Revit software, which allowed the team to ‘walk through’ the building. MNP are also designing a new, pumped drainage system which measures over 1km in length.

Completed.
