Paula Radcliffe, the British marathon legend, once attended Sharnbrook School in Bedford. She lent her name to the school’s new sports centre, which we designed with Martindales.
The design focus was on intelligent use of space, and a careful approach to budget. Long spanning concrete floors gave the centre lots of the former, and a glued and laminated timber roof made the building sustainable, attractive, and cost-effective.
Now, students and locals alike have a facility worthy of their most famous daughter.
