In the 23 months since being destroyed by the fire, we have managed the damage and stability assessments involving the use of drones, advanced computer modelling and a complex movement monitoring system. We carried out daily visual inspections, some whilst hung in a manrider basket to understand weaknesses and potential collapse mechanisms.
We acted as lead consultant for the insurance negotiations, demolition and forensic examination and the subsequent rebuild. Our Civils team carried out the design of the extensive drainage system including significant pollution control measures whilst taking the detailed design forward for the temporary drop-off zone, which has since won the Airport Achievement Award at the Aviation Industry Awards 2025!
This has been a phenomenal effort by all involved and we thank everyone who has worked on this rapid contract with us.
