Background:

Located on a tight site opposite Farringdon tube station in London, this project included façade retention and a new basement. The new 7 storey steel frame with timber floors was supported on a reinforced concrete raft foundation. To provide a sufficient storey height for a dwelling at basement level, the party walls were underpinned.

The building has a mixed use occupancy with a retail unit at part ground and part basement level plus 7 high end residential apartments. MNP worked closely with RMD to design the façade retention scheme.
