Background:

This exciting development saw the transformation of a public house into a six storey block of eight high-end apartments in this ever-changing part of London. The project was valued in the region of £3.5m with all apartments now sold.

Boundaries to the main highway at Old Street and public realm buildings to the rear of the property meant that complex boundary and party wall issues had to be negotiated on site. This resulted in MNP designing a structure that could be developed and built with minimal impact to the adjoining properties.

MNP carried out structural assessments of the existing basement and foundations to design a robust, yet discreet, reinforced concrete structure to maximise available space.

Alongside Cooley architects, MNP redesigned the internal layout to incorporate a new lift to access the contemporary apartments. The project was completed in Spring 2013.
