Background:

MNP designed cost-effective concrete frames for three warehouse style buildings on an old industrial site at 213-217 Bow Road, adjacent to Grove Hall Park, to contain 36 apartments.

Previously the site of a long, narrow warehouse, the residential development will consist of 3, 4, 5 and 6 storey blocks around a central courtyard. The apartment buildings are staggered in height to give views of the park. Every apartment includes a balcony with steel handrails and the top floor penthouses feature roof terraces with hardwood decking.

Energy saving measures aim to achieve CSH Code Level 4 and three types of brick cladding make reference to the industrial heritage of the area. Precast concrete columns with in-situ floors and walls are enabling cost effective and rapid construction. Phase 1 of the development is completed, with a further phase currently in planning.

MNP have also been appointed on a new mixed use scheme for Aitch Group close to the Olympic Stadium.
