Background:
An unusual project to provide civil and structural design for a new concrete skateboard park. The project was complicated by poor ground conditions, existing basements, complex 3d shapes for the bowl structures and restrictions on joint locations. Advanced finite element analysis was undertaken to limit crack widths and provide a robust but economical structure.
