Background:

A Victorian building on the BRE site in Watford has been converted to house terrace properties, each fitted the latest materials and equipment to reduce energy, to test the impact on carbon reduction for older houses in the UK.  The trial also plans to assess the performance of assisted living products, to meet the requirements of the UK’s ageing population.

The government is supporting this trial, in partnership with BRE and over fifty industry organisations. Industry partners including Wates Living Space, Saint Gobain and BASF are using the project as a test centre for existing products and innovative materials, and also for learning valuable lessons about working on site with new techniques and materials.

MNP supported the renovation to help ensure the project was delivered on time. “This project was a true partnership where each member of the supply chain needed to understand the new materials and techniques offered by the other partners, right from the start.”
