Background:

This 76,000 sq ft logistics warehouse in Innova Park, Enfield was completed in 2014 for Salmon Harvester Properties Limited.

Working with Michael Sparks Associates architects on this fast track project, MNP provided civil and structural engineering services including pre-tender steel frame designs and post contract design for the foundations, retaining structures, floor slabs, car park and below ground drainage for the site.

MNP carried out fresh studies of the previously agreed flood levels resulting in a lowering of the floor slab by nearly 1m which greatly enhanced accessibility and scheme viability. Complex studies of the overland flow characteristics, and the selection of large diameter Tubosider Twinstore pipes to provide 750m3 of storm water storage, allowed the discharge to a neighbouring swale and ultimately the River Lea.

The project is positioned at the very top of the Environment Agency’s hierarchy of sustainable solutions for surface water disposal.

Status:
Completed.
