Background:

Complete facelift and internal redesign, including a ‘Brasserie Blanc’ restaurant by Raymond Blanc and MGallery by Mercure Hotels specification.

Following extensive surveys, MNP detailed all modifications to the building as well as cleaning and repair works to the Grade I listed, Bath stone façade. The design, by Houseman Henderson Architects, includes the new restaurant, a new lift shaft, enlarged communal areas, rooms in the basement area and improved access throughout. In addition, MNP acted for owners the Moorfield Group for the Licence to Alter works for the restaurant fitout.

Dating back to 1728, the hotel was originally six private, Georgian town houses. For MNP, this is the seventh commission from owners the Moorfield Group, who acquired the building in 2007.
