MNP named Engineering Partner for £80m Luton regeneration
MNP have been appointed to provide Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Environmental, Ecological and topographical services on the 16 site, approximately 10 hectare project which will see 600+ social dwellings constructed over the next 3 years. The project is part of the wider Building Schools for the Future programme that will see numerous schools and academies constructed across the town as well as commercial, retail and leisure facilities.
Beating off strong competition from major Engineering Consultancies, Project Director Stuart Pledge commented...'we are delighted to be working with Wates again and to be selected as Engineering Partner. Our commitment to Luton Borough Council extends beyond the engineering; we will continue with our student work placement scheme and extend it to Luton schools, provide mentoring days and many more initiatives'.
The project is split in to three phases with soils testing, environmental studies and scheme designs now complete on five sites. Construction is due to commence in June 2010.
